You will pass through fog forest jungle draped with orchids, pass through Rai villages with their incredibly varied use of bamboo

Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world and one of the toughest mountains to summit. The trek which moves along remote parts of Nepal through fog forests draped with orchids is not as hard as the expedition but still is demanding.

The trek starts at Tumlingtar and passes Barun Valley before reaching the base camp. Because camping is only allowed at selected areas, trekkers have to follow a strict itinerary.
